Welcome to Best Cluckin' Chicken, a locally owned poultry farm in Homeworth, Ohio.
Our family started Best Cluckin' Chicken with a simple belief: You should know where your food comes from, how it was raised, and who's behind it. Everyone should have the ability to buy locally raised high quality meat. We service Columbiana County, Stark County, and Carroll County.
It's not always easy to know the story behind the meat in your grocery store. Why can't we always find clear origin labeling labeling on the animal you buy? Ever try to figure out where the farm was located? Good luck! Where is the animal actually raised? Was it 1,200 miles away? Was it packed into a massive barn and never saw the light of day? Your guess is as good as ours. We wanted to build something different. Locally raised chicken, a straightforward buying experience with free delivery to certain areas, and the confidence that comes from knowing your farmer.
Our approach is simple. We raise our chickens on pasture, giving them access to fresh air, grass, sunshine, and room to move. Our chickens will be indoors over night and during certain weather for shelter and protection from predators.
We're not a massive poultry operation with huge buildings or contracts with large food suppliers, and we don't want to be. We are raising healthy chickens and selling directly to you. We're your neighbors, farming right here in Northeast Ohio.
Quality You Can Feel Good About
Not only do we raise chickens in a humane manner on pasture but our chicken is also always USDA inspected. Whether you're looking for chicken breasts, tenderloins, wings, or ground chicken, our goal is to provide quality, locally raised poultry at prices everyday families can afford. We won't always beat the low price of whatever chicken you can buy at a big box retailer but we can guarantee the quality and taste will be worlds apart.
Our Farm to Your Front Door
We believe buying local should be convenient, too. That's why we offer free local delivery within 12 miles of Homeworth, Ohio. If you are outside of our free delivery area, pickup is always an option. We can also arrange delivery for a small fee based on mileage if you are outside of our free delivery zone. You shouldn't have to drive all over Northeast Ohio just to support a local farm.
When you choose Best Cluckin' Chicken, you're doing more than buying dinner. You're supporting a small Ohio business, local agriculture, and a better connection between the people who raise food and the families who enjoy it. You not only support us but you also support the hatchery we source the chickens from, the feed mill that supplies our chicken feed, the people who work in processing, and more. We're proud to call Ohio home and we're excited to share what we're raising with our neighbors.
Plans For The Future
Our goal is to also offer certain vegetables in the spring/summer/fall. We will test the market with our cherry tomatoes in the spring planting season. Our ultimate goal would be to farm full time and open a farm store where customers could directly shop and buy our chicken and produce. Thank you to everyone who helps get us closer to that goal!
